I want to share my personal experience of PTCL’s so called “Broadband Internet Service”, how they are treating its customers. I am using ptcl’s DSL (256K) at my home for last two months. In the early days it worked fine but now a days it really sucks. If I calculate its average uptime, it will be maximum 10 hours a day & they are charging me for 24 hours.Problems I am facing are:
- Disconnect after every 10-30 minutes
- DSL is synced but IP is not assigning
- DSL is synced, IP is assigned to my computer but internet is not working
- Their customer service sucks. I complained many time about these problems, nobody even contacted me.
I talked to their CSR and asked to cancel the DSL service. She told me that you have to goto PTCL’s main office with all the equipments (router etc.) and recent paid telephone bill, so stupid process.
Interesting thing is, my DSL is not syncing while I am writing this review
By the way a good Dial up is much better than PTCL’s DSL service because at least you can continue your online work/assignments. You can change the ISP instantly if you are facing problems but in case of DSL it is a nightmare to change the DSL provider in Pakistan.
