LinkDotNet: Another Broadband Player in Pakistan

With the passage of time Internet business and its usage is growing in Pakistan. There are lot of companies which are providing broadband internet access but unfortunately they don’t care about the customer service and reliable service. After the successful launch of ptcl broadband internet service nationwide, another company LinkDotNet recently launched their internet services in major cities of Pakistan. As a consumer I think this is a great news for us. The more competitors means greater consumers’ bargaining powers.

LINKdotNet is backed by Orascom Telecom, the largest telecommunications service provider in Pakistan known as Mobilink. LinkDotNet has indeed acquired both Dancom and WOL. They have to face a very tough competition from PTCL because PTCL has already taken a large chunk of market share.

As all of you may know about the miserable customer service of PTCL, If PTCL keeps up with this level of customer care and support, there’s no doubt that they will be out from this market soon. I know many people who opted out from PTCL’s DSL due to their bad customer service.

LinkDotNet should provide better customer service and reliable internet service in order to get their stake in the market. I checked out their tariff plans on their site and those seems interesting.

I have also heard from some sources that LinkDotNet is also planning to launch WiMax in major cities of Pakistan. Lets hope for the best and welcome another WiMax Service Provider.

    im using LDN drom last 10months it really sucksssssssssssssss..its a bulls shit im using.its workd for 2-3hours per day only rest of time it never connects.within this mean time i complained them so many times..uu know wht i cant explain that how much they fucked me..sorry for this language but i think they really fucked my money and time.Ever day they have a new excuse…

    it has already gathered so much funds after being privitized, that they could really play with the life of all servce providers, as long PTA came not into authority!
    Linkdotnet n wateen wimax has done really superb what many countries dont think to b feasible in their countries… though wimax being failure in major cities. and Australia is wiping out their Wimax equipment!.. i heard!

    Wow! This is great to know. It is good to see new ISPs are getting into Pakistan. Like Mobile Services, I think more ISPs, more chances of low prices for consumer.

    This is news, i didnt know that Orascom powered LinkdotNet, and neither did i know that Orascom had BoUgHt WOL and Dancom ! That means it has acquired a pretty good setup from the existing providers… and that is a plus point from a aconsumers point of view :D

    As far as wateen goes, one thing that they dont tell, is that they provide shared ip to four users, as opposed to dedicated ip’s, hence the speed will be variable depending on the traffic other users generate …
