September 5, 2009 – 7:33 am | by Shafiq Rehman

SAI (Silicon Alley Insider) reported that Loopt (Location based social network) has made an agreement with AT&T to extract the iPhone user’s location information (with their explicit permission) in the background. According to the deal, they will fetch your location information whenever you have network access regardless that you are running the loopt application or not because it will run in background.
Initially, this service will be available free of cost for 14 day trial program limited to 5,000 iphone users and after that it will cost you 3.99$ per month which will be billed by At&T. You can opt-in for this service from the loopt site using your iphone browser
