
A good news for PayPal employees that the company is increasing its work force in Asia pacific region. PayPal has anticipated the future, therefore they are going to double its employees from 1000 to more than 2000 at the end of this year. They have also made some other decisions to underscore its focus on Asia.
At PayPal’s new international headquarters in Suntec City, Singapore’s technology hub in the middle of the nation’s central business district, the company said that it intends plans to increase its employees in Asia Pacific from 1,000 currently to more than 2,000 by the end of this year. The company also have plans to add more than 100 new jobs at its international headquarters in Singapore because it deals all of the company’s business outside of the United States.
New jobs will be opened at all its seven offices in the region including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan. For its Singapore business headquarters and development center, PayPal will be recruiting local professionals with expertise in technology, product development, infrastructure design, risk and engineering.
The company also announced a partnership with Singapore’s largest bank DBS, allowing customers from DBS and its subsidiary POSB Bank to pay by direct debit from their bank account to their PayPal account.
PayPal also announced that its mobile payment software development kit will be available to developers in the region from next quarter. Furthermore, China UnionPay (CUP) card members–totaling 2.1 billion–will be able to use their PayPal accounts to shop online.
