Google and YouTube Delegates in Pakistan

Pakistan is on the threshold of technology and though it has only 10% technology penetration, there is a strong platform for growth and investments. This is what Google and YouTube delegates observed about the technology scene in Pakistan when they came here for the International Youth Conference. According to the delegates, the 62% of Pakistani youth are a huge asset for the nation if there is a proper channel to guide them for utilizing technology to benefit their own future as well as that of the nation.
The average Pakistani spends just $3/month on mobile communication and around $13/month on broadband facilities. This shows that there is a potential for technological growth in Pakistan, as the local media industry is enhancing the use of online sites like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter to promote as well as run businesses. The youth here now watches shows/dramas/music on YouTube rather than sitting and watching on the TV screen.

The Pakistani media is booming, within just 8 years of media freedom in Pakistan. Private channels are numerous and these channels are integrating the use of technology with their service and business strategies. There is an increasing rate of data download and uploads and most importantly the growth of freelancers who are working endlessly on outsourcing projects. These latest security features will enhance you gmail account security with vision of keeping your personal email account safe from spammers and hackers.

The detailed information is basically a log activity on your account. The alarming alert situation occurs only if your account was being loggedin far from your previous login session during the last few hours. The system detects your geo location on the basis of your login IP.

Google Is The Only Hope for US People Regarding Broadband Internet

For the bright future of broadband internet facilities in the USA, the FCC has established the National Broadband plan but we are screwed. The Federal Communications Commission announced National Broadband Plan last week, their aim is to provide universal, affordable 100 megabits per second broadband internet service to 100 million households at reasonable rates by 2020. No doubt they have made serious efforts including very important tasks towards opening space in the broadcast spectrum but they still have not access the problem creating source .You know very well that without increasing competition, broadband service in the United States will flop and throw USA behind the developed countries.

The main fault of FCC plan is lack of competition because without healthy competition, it is very difficult to push down prices. The plan is made up to understand the necessities of only 15 percent of homes who will have a choice to choose service provider and the remaining 85 percent of homes have no choice at all .

The U.S.A has the highest broadband prices among advanced nations, while in other countries like Japan and France the prices of broadband internet services are very low. Again, it is the question of competition . So why they are going to impose such a fool plan. The answer is because the U.S. government has no backbone and ruins its own ideas.

The only hope of USA peoples is Google which is a upcoming internet giant. Google wants to put 1 gigabit-per-second connections in people’s homes in near future. Google is taking initiative on a very small scale (500,000 homes vs. 100 million) but if the initial response is positive, Google will become a much bigger player in this space than they forecast right now.

If Google, one of the largest companies in this country, only believes they can afford to hook up 50,000 to 500,000 homes with their plan, how is any other company expected to compete with the incumbent players?

Google Launches Smart Rescheduler Calendar

To schedule company meetings is a very tough task now a days. It is very hard to manage the time slot for all the people who have to attend the meeting. Google has launched a new Google Calendar Labs for this problem. This smart Calendar is called the Smart Rescheduler that brings some search smarts to the problem. The Product Manager Of Google Calendar Cyrus Mistry says, all the Google apps customers got it yesterday night. We think it is just like we are giving every employee their own administrative assistant.

The person who wants to schedule the meeting , he just has to enter the names of the participants , duration of the meeting and the date of the meeting when it has to held. The smart rescheduler then starts its work it goes out and looks at every one calendar to see when he is free then it takes into account different time zones and other commitments on their calendars (in order for this to work, all the meeting attendees must share their calendars with Google Calendar).

It is possible that at a point when it starts process someone has a conflict. At this point the Rescheduler looks at all the soft constraints and actually ranks the best meeting times. Different attendees can have different priorities so that the meeting is set around according to their schedule. Firstly, soft constraints are taken into account like partial schedule overlaps, times blocked with no other attendees, meetings where someone’s been invited but hasn’t yet accepted or meetings organized by that person. These factors often indicate a schedule that can be altered.

Google Shifted “Chinese Search Site” To Hong Kong

Google has closed down its Chinese Search Site Google.cn and shifted it to Hong Kong. Also Google has redirected visitors to Google.com.hk. According to Google this is the result of Cyber Attack On Google In December. Google is directing Users to search for Google web, news and image to the Hong Kong site. Users are also enjoying simple Chinese in addition to traditional Chinese and English results.

Google Appeals Mobile Companies For Help Over Admob Deal.

Google is contacting to mobile companies for help in getting their proposed Admob Acquisition which has cleared by the FTC. Specially they are appealing selective companies to write letters in favor of the deal, which Google will then submit to the FTC.

According to a mobile advertising company that received the request letter from Google. The company was appealed to write their thoughts on “Do you think mobile advertising is going to keep growing, and that Google’s acquisition of Admob won’t hurt your business or decrease competition in the mobile market?”

According to Bloomberg’s last week report the FTC had contacted to Admob competitors about the deal. A Google source says that they were also contacted by the FTC several months ago about the deal but till there is no response.

Google Released Google Buzz Widget For Android

Google has launched Google Buzz Widget For Android, which will easily update your status and chase your location. First of all Google released Google Buzz For Mobile almost six weeks ago and while in the overall Buzz platform has made some changes, till now the mobile aspect of the service hasn’t really changed.

The most favorite Android feature is that certain programs will let you use home screen widgets for easy access. It is very useful in a search or a social context.

Currently the widget is only available in English version and to run it you require at least Android 1.6. To download the App you have to Search “Google Buzz” in the Android Market. Once you download it then it can be added to your home screen the same way you add any other widget, click on your home screen menu, click on “add” select “widgets” and then select the option for Google Buzz.

By using the Widget you can add a photo or a album of photos, you can declare your location and can update your status to public or private.

Google Makes Automatic Arrangements For YouTube Overlay Ads

Now a days Google is making serious efforts to push YouTube into profit. Google is trying its level best to post maximum ads into the billions of videos which people watch on the site daily. They are making special arrangements through which automatically Flash overlay ads can be created and displayed on YouTube videos. Through the self-serve Display Ad Builder in Google AdWords, normal businesses can now create Flash overlay ads as easily as they can create display banner ads and post them at YouTube videos.

A good news for Mozila Firefox users. What do you do first when you run internet? Usually, you log in into various sites that need a username and password for example Facebook, Gmail, Twitter etc. I think it’s really very boring. Mozilla Firefox has made special arrangements to get rid of this issue, they introduced a new Firefox Plugin that is known as Account Manager. Presently it does not have to do much more, it only identifies that you have logged in into a website and shows an icon that says yes that you are infact logged up under that username. In future Mozilla has strong desire for online identity management system from within a browser.

Currently Available Account Manager is an early experimental version and it works with Yahoo!, Facebook, Google and some Mozilla’s sites that need log in for example Bugzilla. We expect that in the near future we’ll see more features that really make us enable to switch between different user accounts and sharing content on various social networks easily.
