Microsoft has launched a national campaign entitled “Explore Pakistan” for the celebrations of Pakistan day. Microsoft campaign has already been started from 23rd of March, 2010 and it will continue for next two month. The campaign includes a quiz which is accessible only thorough Microsoft’s latest web browser internet explorer.

The idea behind this exciting campaign is to increase the knowledge about our beloved country Pakistan among the citizens of Pakistan especially the young people. Most of the quiz questions are related to entertainment and history of Pakistan. Successful participants will be eligible for a chance to win Microsoft Netbooks and other gifts at the end of each month.

Kamal Ahmed, Country Manager of Microsoft Pakistan, said about the initiative:

Pakistani consumers have been limited to the rewards of using the Internet. For most of us, competitions and quizzes on the Internet are with foreign ownership. We at Microsoft felt the need to establish opportunities for Internet users and create venues to leverage the amazing facts and figures about our own country which can also increase our younger generation’s awareness. Microsoft has launched  a new Office Outlook Mobile Update 1.0 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 for Windows Mobile 6.1 users. Whenever  the users will connect through mobiles with Exchange Server 2010 they will automatically receive upgraded message for Office Outlook.

Microsoft sources say Office Outlook Mobile Update 1.0 is  required only for Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and Standard versions because this update is already included in the Windows Mobile 6.5.

• E-mails grouped by conversation
• Free/busy look up

In a 3 day MIX10 conference for web designers and developers which was held on March 15-17th, 2010 in Las Vegas Steven Sinofsky the  President for Windows Division has launched Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview build. Microsoft has made an admirable achievement that they added a new engine in IE9 which they call “Chakra”. Along with it they include several standards for example HTML5, DOM, CSS3 and many others are part of  it.

Microsoft has developed the IE9 platform preview only for developers but it does not support user interface and could not be used for a all users. A beta version  for IE9 will be released  soon. IE9 is the the first browser which provide hardware-accelerated SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) support.

Microsoft Mobile Surface Project is a Group of mobile devices with Projector, which will help you to connect your mobile phone not only with project but a camera will show you the screen of your mobile  on  projector surface.

Basically, Microsoft’s Surface Project states that the camera of a cell phone will be used to project the home screen or the program running on a projector screen. In the future you will forget LCD, OLED and AMOLED because there’s a new technology whiich will be the future trend in touchscreen and it be will be your skin (that’s why its called SkinPut). Scientists at Carnegie Mellon University and Microsoft’s Redmond research lab have created a working prototype of a system  called skinput that can efficiently turns your body surface into both screen and input  device.

Skinput is made up of a microchip- sized pipo projector which is built in an armband to create an image onto a users forearm or hand. when the user touches a control icon on the skin, an active detector embeded in the skin analyzes the lowest frequency sound to check which  part of the display has been activated.
