Google Makes Automatic Arrangements For YouTube Overlay Ads

Now a days Google is making serious efforts to push YouTube into profit. Google is trying its level best to post maximum ads into the billions of videos which people watch on the site daily. They are making special arrangements through which automatically Flash overlay ads can be created and displayed on YouTube videos. Through the self-serve Display Ad Builder in Google AdWords, normal businesses can now create Flash overlay ads as easily as they can create display banner ads and post them at YouTube videos.

Overlay ads have been posting on Youtube for a long time and also other video networks. YouTube constantly improving the quality of overlay ads which it shows but a large number of small businesses which normally post ads on Google AdWords don’t have the arrangement to create Flash overlay ads. Now Google is providing them the appropriate templates to create flash overlay ads.

In October, 2009 more than one billion ads were posted on YouTube videos in a week, which were hardly one in seven videos. Now they wants to open all of its video inventory to advertisers whether they are large or small.

HP Launched HP Slate

At The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2010, HP has announced that they are in the process of making a HP Slate , which they will launch in near future. This Trade Show held each January in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association. In the show HP demonstrated two videos about the Slate. In the first video they showed that how you will be able to get full Web Browsing experience in the palm of your hand with HP Slate whereas in the second video they demonstrated Adobe Air and Flash in action on the device.

As you know that Apple’s iPad which was displayed off by the company in January and company also has officially announced the release and pre-order dates for iPad, but you all also know that iPad could not run Adobe Flash even it is a fabulous device in its features.

If you are in a hurry to pre-order for an iPad it is better for you if you wait a little for other brands to come out with their own iPad compatible devices like HP Slate, JooJoo etc. in market, perhaps those will have all those features which you want to see in your smart ipad.

How to Watch High Quality YouTube Videos

Most of the YouTube Users, even some computer geeks think that youtube videos are low quality. I also think they are not up to the mark but I was wrong. As you know YouTube is owned by Google and how is it possible that Google provides you low quality videos? They are providing low quality videos just because there are users who didn’t have good internet and tons of bandwidth.

There are few methods through which You can watch best quality videos If you have high speed internet connection.

1-URL Hacking Technique

Simply add the &fmt=18 at the end of a normal YouTube URL and see if it loads in matter of seconds, If there’s a high quality version available, that extra string will cause it to load otherwise it fails. I have tested this trick on more than 30 youtube videos and I was able to watch about 10 high quality videos.

2-Firefox Add-On

3-YouTube Account Settings

YouTube team has added new functionality in account settings to watch high quality videos right from your YouTube account. Simply login to your account using your login credentials and follow the link to enable your account. Select “I have a fast connection. Always play higher-quality video when it’s available” and you are done. Save settings and enjoy the best quality videos based on availability.

YouTube again blocked in Pakistan by some ISPs?

On February 22, 2008 YouTube was banned by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority due to a controversial anti-islam movie uploaded by Dutch politician Geert Wilders.

For last few days, I have been trying to browse YouTube at my home but its not working properly. The landing page opens with broken images and stylesheets. I asked few of my friends about it and come to know that this time it is not blocked by any Government authority, infact few ISPs are blocking it without any reason. I personally experience it as it works fine in my office but not in home. In office we have high speed fibre optic line from brain net. It is also witnessed that YouTube is not working on LinkDotNet and WorldCall. It works fine with Nexlinx, brainnet and PTCL.

I am using LinkDotNet and today I called their customer support to investigate Why YouTube is blocked. The CSR on the phone told me that it is being blocked by the government. She also told me that you can still browse YouTube using www.geotunnel.com

The question is if youtube is blocked by the govt of Pakistan then why it’s working on PTCL or nexlinx. LinkDotNet and Worldcall Management should take some serious steps to unblock youtube.

Govt of Pakistan has banned YouTube but there are lot of ways to bypass the blocked IP filters implemented by PIE. This solution is not just for YouTube, it applies to all the sites which are banned by the authorities.

Here are the few methods:

Using some public proxy server: Find some working proxy server and use them in Tools -> Options -> Connections -> Lan Settings for IE.
Use any of the following sites to visit your favorite blocked website including youtube. Just enter the url in the text box on respective site.

YouTube Blocked in Pakistan By PTA

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority issued a notice today to all ISPs in Pakistan to block few URLs which were related to election rigging. Since Pakistani service providers didn’t have proper infrastructure to block individual URLs, they blocked the whole domain.

Blocking websites in Pakistan is not new. Government authorities do this many times in the past, but they could not achieve their goal. Technologically speaking there are always some back doors to accomplish their desires so you will see lot of solutions to watch youtube videos in few days.

This is not important that YouTube is blocked, this is important that WHY it is blocked. Some of you might be thinking that it is being blocked due to some vulgarity, nudity, mujras and some questionable material that might be corrupting our society & culture. But this time YouTube is blocked due to some political situation rather than Cultural.

I personally watched few videos of electoral rigging those were placed on YouTube. I cannot provide you the link because I am in Pakistan and I cannot open YouTube . Moreove I do a trace rout an it ends up on PIE (Pakistan Internet Exchange).
